What I've been up to this week

Ammon and I walked down to the bakery just down the street on Tuesday and got a coxinha as an afternoon snack. Coxinhas, for those of you who don't know, are little baked puffs of dough with chicken in the middle. So good!  Also we got fresh squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. But it was really weird because there was a layer of sugar on the bottom. Orange juice does not need sugar. Weird. Then I bought Ammon and myself a passion fruit mousse. Yum! And then Ammon bought some new bouncy balls and gave one to me because there was a little girl inside of it. :)

And we went to Dom Pedro again. We went yesterday for 6 hours!!! We had a blast, but were exhausted when we got home. Although we better not go again or at least I better leave my money at home if we do. :)

Yes, I went to a Walmart in a mall. Crazy. Also you can see a McDonald's stand where they only sell desserts.

Me, Rachel, and Eliane in front of a pretty plant outside the mall.

So when they tore down trees to make this mall they preserved some of them. Pretty cool.

It is really pretty inside. The 4 sections of the mall have themes like water, birds, etc.

Another preserved tree that Nani and I are resting on.

A pretty tower in the parking lot.

All my bags. It might not look that big, but I assure you it's a lot of stuff!

So I would take a picture of the crazy wedge shoes I bought, but then my mom would kill me.

Oh what the heck.

Here they are:

I figured I had to get something high-heeled because I'm in Brazil and everyone wears heels here. I like wedges and these are surprisingly comfortable and so hot! I'm really going to try to wear my heels more often when I get home.

So after a 6 hour long trip, Rachel and I went off to a Relief Society Service project where we were making these clowns out of recycled materials (except for the creepy head). It was more difficult than it looks and my fingers hurt afterwards from tying knots and pulling elastic string.

Rachel's Red, White, and Blue clown next to my first one. Creepy, right?

Mom: I chose these colors just for you. ;) (In case you can't tell it's lime green and teal)

Also, Tuesday night (sorry this post isn't chronological) we got these huge amazing baked potatoes. Mine had broccoli, cheese, and bacon in it. And the white swirly stuff on the outside is also cheese. And those are the chow mein type noodles made out of potato that I was telling you guys about a couple weeks ago. It was delicious! And so huge that I ate the rest of it for breakfast the next morning. Yum!

That potato looks AMAZING! Potatoes my favorite food in the world. Yum. I never got to try one when i was down there.

AND...if you happen to go to the mall again, make sure to get some "Bob's Sorvetes". They have the best soft-serve icecream I've had anywhere--and I've been to 3 different continents.

It's so fun to just walk around that mall and explore, right? :) Glad you're having fun!

Love the preserved trees, especially the bench. What kind of desserts from the McDonald's kiosk, apple pie? Shoes are crazy. What is the material? Heels are fun. Potato looks incredible. Was is a super huge potato, or just lots of stuff on it?
