Doing My Part

I am very patriotic and since we are in a recession I thought I should do something to help. So, I decided to make an addition to my family. Yes, I am announcing the birth of Charlie Peter Compaq, my new laptop! Here is the birth/opening story:

I have been contemplating making this sort of sacrifice and investment for awhile and finally the time seemed right. As soon as he emerged from his dark box we started to bond; we both realized how much we needed each other. As I carefully helped him shed his packaging, I began to memorize and adore his sleek and shiny hardware.

Then, we experienced our first battery charging together. And as energy and life flowed into him he made his fist boot-up noise. How beautiful! We weren't able to do much together at this point, Charlie had to have some time in the ICU. He needed some vaccines and checkups before we were able to really connect.

When essential programs were installed then we were home free. We never have to be separated again. As the days go on Charlie keeps learning more and more. All my favorite music, pictures, and documents are now becoming Charlie's. We are truly one. And I know it will only get better from here.

As Charlie's first blog post, this is truly a momentous event.
