Harry Potter has been my good friend for about 10 years now. That is a long time! I can think of few people (besides family) that I have known as long. (When I say Harry Potter I guess I should really say Harry Potter and friends). Harry has been there for me at all times of the day and night providing me with a good laugh and a wonderful story.
The summer I was 16 I had a job in Provo. At lunch, I would eat my snack and read Harry Potter for a few minutes (I believe that I was just re-reading the series). One day, my sister was driving me to work on her way to BYU and we had an accident. A car slammed into us and totaled our car. My sister and I were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and a lot of x-rays.
While I was laying on a hospital bed in the ER with several family members around me, I asked for my Harry Potter book to read it. I got several funny looks and questions as to why I wanted it. It seemed like they thought I was crazy for thinking about Harry Potter at a time like this. Well, let me explain myself. At the time, I couldn't stand my parents just sitting around and looking at me. Every time I looked at them I started crying again. I think my brain couldn't handle anymore stress or thinking about what ifs. I just wanted to escape into a different world that always comforted me: Harry Potter.
And so you see, Harry and I have been good friends through thick and thin. If you think I am silly that is fine. But I love Harry Potter and I am not afraid to admit it!

I loved your post! I have a few literary friends that I visit; most recently, Anne of Green Gables. I got your paper, but I haven't read it yet. Love you!
